Last month Mathew Childer took a step of faith and went on a trip to Nicaragua with his church, First Baptist Altamonte Springs.
This is a piece of his story.
“I didn’t plan on going on this trip, because I didn’t have the money for it. But I knew the LORD could do anything; I knew He could provide. Turns out, someone donated for me to go, and I was on my way a few weeks later.
God’s hand was on the whole trip. I could feel His spirit moving.
He blessed us with the opportunity to help two families build their houses. Most important of all, we were given the chance to show these people the love of God.
Seeing their smiles made the whole trip a success. Bringing joy to a troubled soul in this dark world in the name of the LORD is what it’s all about.
God used us to spread His glory, and as vessels to bring people to Him. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Praise Jesus; to God be all the glory.”
Isn’t it funny how when we set out to serve others we end up being blessed in the process?
The Father takes us to the dark corners of the earth to share His love to His people and at the same time He reveals more of His love and provision for us.
